  Mini Movers at Momentum Dance is a caregiver/child dance class for 2-3 year olds. An adult participates with the child. Mini Movers is an exciting and upbeat class for dancers to explore music and dance. This creative movement based class will help develop motor skills, introduce rhythmic awareness, increase coordination, and discover balance all through movement and music!

  *This is not a drop off class. Please plan to have a parent or guardian join the class with their dancer. Registration closes Oct. 10.

  This trial class is free of charge for WMF members. Spots are limited!

  Does your toddler have a lot of energy? Get ready for a fun, kid-paced adventure through nature! Come join for the Little Explorers Nature Walk, a short 1.3-mile hike for toddlers and young kids who love to explore. The trail includes some uneven terrain and gentle hills—perfect for little hikers, but not stroller-friendly, so bring a carrier if needed. We’ll move at a comfortable pace, enjoying fresh air, fall foliage and soaking in time outdoors.

  Looking for a fun outdoor Autumn activity to do with the kiddos? Join us at Lookout Farm to decorate sugar pumpkins and rock out to live music brought to you by one of our favorite local musical acts, Jammin with You. 

  We will have picnic tables set up for pumpkin decorating. Guests can also order their own food, cider, and/or beer from Lookout's restaurant from the QR codes at each table. A costume parade and Halloween-themed dance party will follow pumpkin decorating, so we encourage all kids to wear their costumes! There will be prizes for best costume and best dancer!

  Thank you to Roche Brothers for their support of this event!

  During the month of October, we will be collecting donations for Cradles to Crayons and will have a donation bin available. Most requested items include: 

  • New or gently used: clothing, jackets and shoes
  • New: pajamas, socks and underwear

  All sizes accepted, including adult sizes to serve older children. 

  The event is free, but will cost $5 per pumpkin. We are unable to offer refunds for this event.

  Meet other WMF moms at the Upham School, 35 Wynnewood Road for a picturesque autumn 5k jog through the Cliff/Peirce Estates Wellesley Hills neighborhood. Pre-scope out a Halloween hot spot on the route, as we run past the famous “Tootsie Roll” house. Park and meet in the school parking lot, which is at the end of Lowell Road or Wynnewood Road.

  Estimated 10-11 minute/mile pace, but depending on group size and pace, may split into two groups for a sub-10 min/mile pace and a 10+ min/mile pace!

  Run departs at 8:30am!

  Enjoy a scenic autumn jog along Wellesley’s popular Brook Path. The Brook Path is an ADA-accessible stone dust path in Fuller Brook Park that runs along the Fuller and Caroline Brooks. Established in 1899, the park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

  Park on Maugus Ave or Seaward Road and meet your fellow joggers at Philips Park (the playground in between those two roads). Goal for a 3-4 mile run, with an optional stop at Whole Foods at mile 1 or mile 3 if needed. Note: the path is natural stone/dust, so easy on the knees!

  Outdoor Parents interest group is hosting an outdoor Pilates Fusion class and "social schmooze" with our very own Amanda Hanofee on the evening of October 8th! Mark your calendars and sign up, space is limited!

  Amanda is a certified Pilates and Barre instructor and a Postpartum Exercise Specialist so you can expect a high energy, yet safe and accessible workout for all levels. Her classes fuse traditional Pilates concepts with a contemporary spin, focusing on functional movements, building strength and mobility and energizing low impact cardio.   Come enjoy a Moms-only, outdoor weekend away from it all in Vermont (with amenities!)! We will hike, dine, relax, and get to know each other better while enjoying the great outdoors while also enjoying comfortable accommodations (no camping)! This getaway includes the cost of all lodging, food at the Chalet, and drinks, and is sure to be a memorable weekend for all who join. The registration fee is $175. 

  Schedule:

  Friday:

  • Drive to the Chalet (car pooling is highly encouraged and we can help arrange it. Please reach out if you're willing to drive others or need a ride.)
  • Dinner at the Chalet for those who are there in time for dinner
  • Games & drinks

  Saturday:

  • Breakfast at the Chalet
  • Intermediate/Difficult 5-6 mile hike with packed lunches at the top
  • Afternoon at Chalet or exploring nearby towns
  • Dinner out at Maple Soul

  Sunday:

  • Breakfast at the local cafe
  • Drive home

  Details:

  • The Chalet is approximately a 3 hour drive without traffic.
  • Sleeping arrangements will be on a first come, first served basis. Each person will get their own room with the exception of one room which has 2 sets of bunk beds and will accommodate 4 people (if you want to volunteer in advance to stay in this room - it will probably be the most fun!).
  • For the hike, make sure to bring sturdy sneakers or hiking shoes, a water bottle, and comfortable workout clothes.

  Join us for Bundles and Bonfires, a fun and cozy evening with the outdoor parents group! This event is all about community, warmth, and swapping outdoor gear. Whether your kids have outgrown their winter gear, or you're just looking for something new for yourself, bring any gently used outdoor gear (all sizes welcome, from kids to adults) and trade it for something fresh. All unclaimed gear will be donated.

  We’ll have a bonfire to keep us warm, plus hot drinks, tasty snacks, and plenty of time to chat and connect with other parents in a relaxed setting. It’s the perfect opportunity to declutter, refresh your family’s gear, and enjoy a crisp evening outdoors.
