As a new school year approaches, if you are getting rid of prior year backpacks and they are still in good condition, please consider donating your gently used backpacks for children in Haiti that Tailored for Education provides school uniforms and backpacks for.
Tailored for Education (TFE) is a Boston based nonprofit that increases school enrollment and creates economic opportunity by providing the world’s most vulnerable children with locally made school uniforms.
Without these uniforms, the children cannot attend school, as they are required by the government. For many of the children we support, the first uniform they receive is the first new piece of clothing they have ever owned. Uniforms instill a sense of pride and they are a visual representation that the child is going to school to become something. Uniforms even the playing field, boost confidence and increase class participation. Children are more likely to raise their hand and ask questions when they are properly dressed and comfortable.
Please consider donating a gently used (or new!) backpack to help further this mission. The organization also relies heavily on donations for supplies for school uniforms and you can donate here:

We can only accept gently worn bags that promote dignity and self respect ... so no holes or bad stains. Embroidered names are ok - but very helpful to the organization if you are able to begin pulling out the stitches before dropping off. Thank you to our members!
